Hey just saying hi! I had an experience (a little like what Ben posted) about taking a risk with our youth group (some significant changes, which some are excited about and some, well are less than excited)... I was super...nervous though....But God pulled through. I am so grateful. I am just praying the rest of the year will go well.

I'm at an interesting point in my life. I don't really feel like it's a turning point, but perhaps long period of transition. My job is going well. Though I think as long as I have this job I will look at the sky, shake my head, and think "Lord, I'm glad you know what you're doing, cause I obviously have no clue!" It's strange because I do often make mistakes or have a hard time keeping track of the things I need to do ... But I think that God is so much bigger than my mistakes and lack of foresight. He makes up for the things that I cannot do. Sometimes, I see that ... in how things seem to just fall into place..... ..... .... Other times, I mull over things in my head a zillion times, as if I really could solve the problems on my own or if thinking about them would make things work out. Lol
I am glad and ever humbled that by God's design I have this job. It is an interesting learning process. Yet, it strengthens my realization that God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. (even if, like with the apostles, sometimes it takes a while for us to have the courage to do the work He calls them to do...or even to understand what it is He really is calling them to.) God likes us in our brokenness, in our youth, in our bumbling inexperience; it is in "our weakness that we are strong" because we rely on Him more rather than on our own knowledge or ability.

Evening Pray-er
Supposed to read:
"When evil-doers draw near
to devour my flesh
it is they my enemies and foes
who stumble and fall"
What I read...
"when evildoers do near
to devour my fresh
it is they enemies and foes
and stumble and fall"
after that I had to concentrate a little harder to get the right words out of my mouth. LOL

So the last few nights I have been a lil' sleepy at Evening Prayer time...
Here's two of my passage readings...
"God chose us in Him to be homely and blameless in His sight" (Eph 1)
the 2nd is like it....
"You give me life and frustrate my fro's" (Ps 138)

"No one likes waiting,
not even waiters
And they are paid to do it.
Comcast High-Speed
Internet- stop waiting."
It amazes me when I stop and look at the notions being promoted everywhere. Waiting is something that has definetly been dissed on. [That is unless the waiting is to do something good ie I will start praying daily...tomorrow].
Our culture cries ...."get what YOU want, and get it now..... and here I can sell it to you for the low price of 199.99"
However, the fact is that waitng is a part of life...an important one. During this time so many other things are happening, we are growing and preparing for something special...so that we may be all the more ready to receive what we are given.
It seems to me that we focus in on the things that we want so closely that we truly deprive ourselves of all that God has to offer us.
"Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you"
What do we seek after first...? Where do we have trouble accepting or waiting for GOD's plan?

Just a little reminder...
it does cost extra money per person per night, so if you are staying overnight please bring money for that. (I am looking into securing another site...) So, please let me know if you are interested in staying overnight (and which nights so that I can make sure we have enough room.) And if anyone has a really large tent that we could use please let me know.
Also, please bring either your own food or food to share. (Anything but hotdogs...I have am contributing a ton of them for whoever would like them).

"Ahhh...imagining that irresistible 'new car' smell?
Check out new cars at Yahoo! Autos."
Irresitable? Hmmm.... All I can think about is that the odor is caused by some of most toxic chemicals with which we allow ourselves to be confined a tiny area!
Interesting...I never really like the smell.. anyway..

Pero mira como beben
Los peces en el rio
Pero mira como beben
Por ver al Dios Nacido
Beben y Beben y vuelven a Beber
Los peces en el rio
Por ver a Dios Nacer.
La Virgen esta lavando
Y tendiendo en el romero
Los pajaritos cantando
Y el romero floreciendo
Pero mira . . . .
La Virgen se está peinando
Entre cortina y cortina
Los cabellos son de oro
Y el peine de plata fina
Pero mira . . . .
La virjen lleva una rosa
En su divina pechera
Qoe se la dio San José
Y el dia de nochebuena
Pero mira . . . .

There is need of only one thing.
Mary has chosen the better part
and it will not be taken from her.”

Vanity of vanities, says Qoheleth,
vanity of vanities! All things are vanity!
What profit has man from all the labor
which he toils at under the sun?...
All speech is labored;
there is nothing one can say.
The eye is not satisfied with seeing
nor is the ear satisfied with hearing.
What has been, that will be;
what has been done, that will be done.
Nothing is new under the sun.
Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain wisdom of heart.

Return, rebellious children, says the LORD, for I am your Master; I will take you, one from a city, two from a clan, and bring you to Zion. I will appoint over you shepherds after my own heart, who will shepherd you wisely and prudently.
When you multiply and become fruitful in the land, says the LORD, They will in those days no longer say, “The ark of the covenant of the LORD!” They will no longer think of it, or remember it, or miss it, or make another. At that time they will call Jerusalem the LORD’s throne.
Jer 3:14-17

"A young heart can understand the reckless love that is needed for self-giving"
-Beloved Pope John Paul II: Spoken in "Rise, Let Us Be On Our Way" (p. 126) to encourage bishops to "challege the young people with the great ideal of priesthood."
This phrase really struck me...JPII expounds upon how a 'reckless love' must envelope the heart to truly live out the call of one's vocation. This love is not seeking personal benefits, but rather longs for the good of the beloved....just as Jesus so willingly (dare I say 'recklesslessly') offered His life for his beloved Church.
How inexpressably beautiful!!!!!!!
